The sprawling hexagonal cable pattern, vaguely reminiscent of chicken wire, gives the Henhouse Hat & Cowl set its name, while shaping at the crown of the hat reveals a small cabled flower. Both the hat and cowl are worked in the round from the bottom up.

Yarn Plymouth Yarn Viento (70% baby alpaca, 30% bamboo; 98 yd 90 m/ 1 ¾ oz 50 g): #003 Dark Grey, 3 skeins for cowl and 1 skein for hat.

Needles Size 10 (6 mm): Cowl: 24” circular (cir). Hat: 16” cir and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.

Gauge 21 sts and 22 rnds = 4” in cable patt.
