These mittens were designed to showcase my naturally dyed yarn.

The pattern contains a fairisle stranded colourwork design, or you could knit them plain in one colour.

The main design has embroidered flowers on the front with floats carried across the front. Alternatively, you can carry the design across the front.

For the embroidery, you can copy my stitches, make up your own design, or I recommend the Embroidery on Knits book by Judit Gummlich if you’d like to explore further designs.

I used a combination of running stitch for the stems, daisy stitch for the leaves, French knots for the flower centres and satin stitch for the petals. But let your imagination run wild!

I had plenty of yarn left over from using two skeins in different colours. But these are also a perfect way to use up leftovers by changing the colour for every pattern repeat. You would need one skein to knit them in just one colour.
