This is a whimsical double knit design that has a bunch of cats along a fence. Just try herding all those cats!! Reversible cats!! This project is perfect for a beginner who wants to try double knit for the first time, but it is also suitable for those who are advanced beginners and experienced knitters as well. This pattern includes instructions for BOTH fingerless mittens and full mittens. The pattern includes four large charts and you will choose one per mitten.

This pattern coordinates with my Herding Cats Cowl and Herding Cats Hat.

Gauge:
Gauge is 24 stitches and 32 rows per 4 inches double knit in the round.

Finished size: Medium/Large (7.5-8 inches in diameter)

Materials:
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn (100 grams total - 50 yards each in two contrasting colors)

Needles and Notions:

  • 2.5mm (US size 1.5) circular needle or size necessary to achieve gauge
  • Tapestry (darning) needle
  • 2 Stitch markers (for the thumb gussets)
  • small amount of scrap yarn
