Kopi af et sjal fra Herning-egnen ca. 1880. Bindesjalerne hører til i den danske strikketradition og dette sjal blev lavet i samarbejde med Herning Historieske Museum, som har flere variationer af bindesjaler i deres samling. Det originale sjal er strikket i ren uld, men vi har valg at gøre det lidt lettere.
Sjalet strikkes i retstrikning med en tråd Spinni og en tråd Silk Mohair. Blonden strikkes for sig og sys på til sidst.

The original shawl is knitted in pure wool, but we have chosen to make it a little lighter.

MEASUREMENTS
Along upper edge: 180 cm
At centre back (without lace edge): 50 cm

200 g Isager Spinni col 6s
75 g Isager Silk Mohair col 6

TENSION in garter stitch
10 cm = 20 sts
10 cm = 40 rows

Recommended NEEDLES
3.5 mm long circular – work back and forth on a circular needle
3 or 3.5 mm crochet hook

The shawl is knitted in garter st using one strand Spinni and one strand Silk Mohair held tog.
It is begun with few sts at the centre top and then increases are worked in the middle and along sides.
The lace edge is worked individually with two strands of Spinni held tog and is sewn on when finishing the shawl.
The shawl has a crocheted edge along the neck side edge.
