Herringbone Mitts
Last year my guild, the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Knitters Guild, studied stranded knitting. We did a Knit-A-Long of Kate Gagnon Osborn’s Opus Spicatum Beret. Opus Spicatum is a Latin term for a type of masonry used in Roman and Medieval times. It forms a herringbone pattern just like her beret. After I knitted her hat I wanted mitts to match it and this pattern is the result. If you’d like to knit them both, you can find her free pattern on Ravelry.
This pattern is free to members of The Knitting Guild Association. For information about membership, go to www.tkga.org.
