This knitted beanie makes a heart-warming gift for your special someone

The Hertta beanie is the cutest accessory! Thanks to the simple two-color colorwork design, it’s perfect even for beginners. The heart-themed beanie also makes a lovely gift for your loved ones. The pattern includes two sizes: one for children and one for adults.

Hertta beanie: materials

  • 100 g of West Yorkshire Spinners The Croft Aran (100% wool, 100 g = 166 m) in color Ollaberry 568, and 100 g of Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 (100% wool, 100 g = 200 m) in color 9605 Tiger Lily
  • 5 mm (US 8) circular needles (40 cm) and 5 mm (US 8) double-pointed needles, or size to match gauge a stitch marker.

Gauge: 20 sts and 23 rounds = 10 cm.

Yarn consumption

For the child’s size, you’ll need about 52 g of yarn in total (about 40 g of the purple Ollaberry shade and 12 g of the orange Tiger Lily shade), and for the adult size, about 60 g (around 44 g of Ollaberry and 16 g of Tiger Lily). This amount does not include the pom-pom. One skein of Ollaberry and one skein of Tiger Lily should be enough to knit both a child’s and an adult’s hat.

Tip! The ribbing will be snugger if you knit it with needles that are half a size smaller.
