Using Cecilia Campochiaro’s inspiring principle of knit-purl sequences, this design contains echoes of the familiar borders / centre structure of Shetland haps, while being constructed in innovative modular triangles.
Yarn
Buachaille (100% Scottish Wool; 110m / 120 yds per 50g skein)
Yarn A Haar; 6 (8, 11) x 50g skeins
Yarn B Squall; 3 (4, 5) x 50g skeins
Size
All sizes have a circumradius of 82.5cm / 32½in
Needles and Notions
1 set 4.5mm (UK 7 / US 7) circular knitting needle, 80cm / 32in long
Crochet hook, 3.25mm (UK 10 / US D/3) (exact size not crucial)
Blocking wires and/or rust-proof pins
Waste yarn (smooth, e.g. 4 ply cotton or sock yarn)
Gauge
19 sts and 26 rows to 10cm / 4in over {k6, p6} sequence pattern
24 sts to 14cm / 5½in over lace edging pattern
