Hidden Butterflies is the result of my love for exploded lace patterns. I am enamored by top-down lace and wanted to create an all-over lace sweater that would look pretty dressed up or down. The lace pattern is called Smiling Diamonds, but if you look closely at the yoke, the increase rows create butterflies! Knit in luscious Cake wool Dough, this super soft and beautifully dyed yarn will delight you from the second you wind it, whilst you are knitting and after it blooms in blocking.

MATERIALS
Yarn:
CAKE wool co. Dough (DK)
80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon
231yards 212 m 100 grams
Color used: Orange Cake

Needles (suggested sizes):
US 6 4 mm in 16” 40 cm and 24” 60 cm lengths.
US 7 4.5 mm in 16” 40 cm and 24” 60 cm lengths.

Gauge:
One lace repeat: 2.88” 7.32 cm wide and 3” 7.62 cm long after blocking.
Garter Stitch: 16 sts to 4” with smaller needle in the round. Please take time to block your swatch to ensure you have enough yarn for your project.

Notions:
Stitch markers (one for BOR and 2 contrasting colors), darning needle, scrap yarn or Knitting Barber cords for holding stitches
