In an effort to balance financial affordability with fair, sustainable pricing, I have adopted a Pay What Works pricing model. This allows you to pay what you are able while valuing all of the work that goes into making each pattern. The price listed reflects what I believe to be the true value of the pattern and the work of all those that make the pattern possible.

The Hidden Forest Hat is a statement piece you will reach for again and again. It is a great template to let you demonstrate all of your brioche skills, including increases, decreases, and cables on a small scale. Cable windows allow alternate color foliage designs to peek through, then the dominant color is switched as the cables travel across the crown. After knitting this pattern, not only will you have a beautiful new hat to be proud of, but you will also feel empowered to try any new brioche pattern that catches your eye. This design is a great way to practice all of the skills needed to knit the Hidden Forest Sweater or the Hidden Forest Shawl on a small scale, plus video tutorials are linked to help you learn any new techniques.

The design is shown in charted form only.

Finished Measurements:

Gauge:
18 stitches x 27 rounds = 4 in/10 cm in 2-color Brioche Rib after gentle blocking (do not stretch your swatch)

Needles:
16-in US 6/4.0 mm circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
16-in US 4/3.5 mm circular needle
US 6/4.0 mm DPNs or preferred needles to knit small circumferences in size needed to obtain gauge

Notions:
• Locking stitch markers/cable needles (I recommend using stitch markers as cable needles)
• Stitch markers
• Darning needle

If you choose to print your pattern, I recommend printing your charts in color to help distinguish between the different cables.
