High Hopes
Thinking back to my pregnancy, one of my most common thoughts was about what this little person would grow up to be. I imagined all sorts of wonderful life adventures for him, dreamed up a childhood of fanciful play, and pictured his smiling, happy face. High Hopes was knitted as a reflection on these thoughts; a way to keeps hands busy, while the mind hopes for the best future imaginable.
High Hopes is knit as a mitered corner square, beginning with a Stockinette stitch edge (two sides of the blanket), and alternating garter stitch stripes, while decreasing down to the final point, just a couple of stitches. The inner square is then blocked, and a border is picked up and worked in garter stitch around the outside edge, with mitered corners. The result is a delicate, simple, and elegant blanket that will be a loved and cherished heirloom for years to come.
Available in two sizes, High Hopes is knit in Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca Silk. The result is a delicate, soft, and warm blanket, with great color options. The blanket is pictured in two color options, though your color choices are nearly endless.
