With a body that looks like faceted crystal and a crown that looks like a slice of lemon or lime, this hat was destined to be named after a drinking glass. Work this slouchy hat up in your three favorite colors and watch the mesmerizing geometric pattern grow before your eyes.
Construction Details
The Highball Hat is worked in the round from the brim towards the crown using stranded colorwork. Smaller needles are used for the brim and larger needles are used for the body and crown. The pattern is provided in chart or written form. Where indicated, you may follow either version.

Decreasing (CDD and k2tog)
Sizes: Adult Small (Adult Large)
Finished Hat Circumference: 20 (22.5)”
Finished Hat Depth: 10 (10)”
Gauge: 19 stitches and 21 rounds = 4” in stranded colorwork using size needle to obtain gauge.
Needles: US 8 (5 mm) 16” circular needle and DPN or size needed for gauge, US 6 (4 mm) 16” circular needle or two sizes smaller than size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Yarn: three colors of worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn in the following yardage amounts:
Brim color: 40 (50) yards
Body color 1 (C1): 80 (95) yards
Body color 2 (C2): 80 (95) yards
Sample made with Stonehedge Fiber Mill “Shepherd’s Wool” (100% worsted spun fine wool, 250 yds /114 g) in Navy, Baby Pink, and Mint.
Other Materials: locking stitch markers, tapestry needle.
