Highland Heather Shawl
This crescent-shaped design was originally created as a personal challenge to knit a small shawl/scarf using a sample skein of just 375m (50g) of Camelhair Lace yarn. The name ‘Highland Heather’ was the colour of the original yarn used.
The same pattern can also be used to knit a medium-sized version in 4-ply/sock yarns.
I’ve also designed a larger version to use as much as possible of a 100g skein of laceweight. This version includes a picot bind-off, which can also be used on the smaller versions (but will take more yarn).
Both versions have enough pattern variation to keep experienced lace knitters interested, while still being easy enough for a confident beginner to tackle.
