Highlands Beret
by Pat Hut
Welcome hat weather in a classic, cabled beret! Chain link cables ring the two-layer brim, which is automatically hemmed as you work. Cabled squares in continuous entrelac create the fanciful crown. From start to finish, the seamless modular construction means no sewing required. Just top it with a pompom and it’s ready to wear.
Hat is worked from the bottom up. Brim is worked seamlessly in the round. Crown consists of five tiers, each comprised of eight individual squares worked back and forth in rows. After one square is made, the stitches are held on the needle while the next square is worked. Crown shaping is worked seamlessly in the round.
