HighlandVest
Description
The Highland Vest features a slighted fitted, cropped shape,
deep armholes, and a crew neckline. The cable pattern has
ribbed sides and vents at the hem. This vest is knit flat in two
pieces, from the bottom up, then sewn together. The neck trim
is knit on using circular or double pointed needles. Pattern is
both charted and written out.

1 set US Size 8/5mm straight knitting needles for the
front and back OR SIZES TO OBTAIN GAUGE
1-16” US size 7/5mm circular needle or set of double
pointed needles for the neck trim
OR 1 SIZE SMALLER THAN WHAT YOU USED FOR THE BODY

Notes
CHARTS: Wrong side (odd numbers) rows are worked from left to right. Right side (even numbers)rows are worked from right to left.
Take note of the row you are on in the pattern when you shape the armholes and shoulders on the back so you do the front shaping on the same rows.
If you elect to make the vest longer or shorter, divide the amount evenly between the side length and the armhole length- Example: If you want to make it 1” longer, make the side length ½” longer and the armhole ½” longer)
If you are unsure about what size to make, measure one of your sweaters that you like the fit of and choose the size that is closest to those measurements.
