As I’m writing this and hurricane Ian is heading toward Hilton Head, South Carolina, I am remembering visiting this beautiful resort island with my father, an avid golfer. After a day “out on the links,” the men would gather on the terraces with their cocktails and relive the harrowing adventures they had endured, smacking balls around the course that day. On cooler evenings, some donned herringbone jackets or elegant sweaters, perhaps with shawl collars. With fond memories of those days in mind, I chose a herringbone knitting pattern to create a shawl-collared pullover. The Knit Picks Gloss yarn with its 30% silk yields a luxurious fabric with a beautiful sheen. As evening falls, the fairways turn a dark green, and the sky darkens to a deep blue, reminding me of happy evenings. I hope you enjoy my Hilton Header sweater.
