Himapaat Hat
Himapaat means “snow”. I like the sound of the word in Hindi and it seems appropriate since this is a cold weather item. The motifs are taken from beautiful pieces of embroidery from the Indian Continent. Infused with bright color, the motifs go on dresses, shirts and saris. What better to fight the whites and grays of winter? The motifs are simplified here, and the cap shown has small bits of blue (optional) embroidered on after knitting.
Each size has slight differences in motif in the rounds immediately above the brim.
A guide to colors in Indian Embroidery is included.
Four sizes: Infant, Child, Adult & Large Adult.
