HIMARI means “sunflower” and is perfect for cooler summer days or cozy evenings. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. First, increases are made for the shoulder yoke using Susie Myers’ Contiguous Method. Once the shoulder yoke is complete, slanted increases are worked for the sleeves while, at the same time, increases for the back and front pieces are worked within the cable patterns that run along the sleeve “seams.”
After separating the sleeves, the lower body is worked in stockinette stitch in the round until the cable pattern section. Following the cable pattern, the stitches are bound off with an I-cord bind-off. The sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch and finished with cuffs in a k1, p1 rib pattern. For the neckband, stitches are picked up around the neckline and also worked in ribbing.

We knitted our sample using LINENGARN by Växbo, 100% linen, 420 m per 100 g, together with LAMANA MODENA, 70% virgin wool, 30% cashmere, 335 m per 25 g, holding both yarns together. If using a single strand yarn instead, choose a yarn with approximately the combined yardage and plan for one extra skein to be on the safe side.
