Hippie Heart Bag
A hippy style bag with a heart color work pattern. This cute cross-body purse has fashionable fringes at the end which adds extra visual interest and add the element of fun to this quirky bag. Whenever you move while wearing this bag, the fringes will flow like ocean waves.
This 70s style boho purse is flat on both sides and 2 dimensional in shape. It has a long string like strap that makes the bag rest at the hips. It is small in size, however a very functional accessory.
The bag features a heart, stripes and shells pattern and shouts out joy and love from all its pores. I wish you all celebrate Valentine’s Day by being hippie, being happy and with your hearts full of love.
Story of this bag:
Just after I graduated from college in 1999, I began with an intensive computer course. I wanted to start earning some income while I was studying. So I began taking orders for purses on wholesale.
I think, this is one of the 1 few patterns I designed while I was crocheting away bags after bags after bags for wholesale commissions.
Out of all the patterns I have come up, this one is my most favorite of all. I know I say this for many of my other patterns, however this one takes the crown. I guess, the heart design just melts my heart a little bit.
It took me only 21 years to write the pattern for this bag. Seriously, just 21 years. ;) It took me a lot of years to get this pattern from the draft stage in my journal to the completion stage that is today.
This year, I have made a resolution to complete all my crochet UFOs – projects and patterns. I was a little discouraged when I realized that this pattern may require a lot of explanation as it is Tapestry crochet. The self doubt was in full force…will I be able to explain it or not? Should I do it later?
I realized it is not so tough to explain like I thought it would be. I am very happy I completed this pattern. There is a sense of achievement and satisfaction in me right now mixed with a dose of pride. Yes!!! I did it. I am feeling great!
Everything is easy. We just like to make things difficult for ourselves by making it difficult in our minds.

Basic knowledge of tapestry crochet required.
