A simple ribbed beanie with a wavy scallop folded brim. Fold it high for a classic look or low for a longer pointed style. Flip it inside out to reveal a new crown texture with chained lines or crew ridges. Worked in two tones, it’s the perfect way to use up leftover yarns or lonely balls, creating a unique, color-rich accessory.

You automatically receive a 15% discount if you purchase 2 or more patterns from my Ravelry Shop at the same time (i.e. in ONE transaction, place them all in your cart before you check out). No code needed.

CONSTRUCTION NOTE
Holoding the Wave beanie is worked in one piece from the bottom up. At the beginning, the brim is worked flat. This allows you to create the wavy (scalloped) edge using short rows. After the waves are completed, the brim is joined in the round and the rest of the hat is worked circularly.
The brim shaping uses the Shadow Wrap short-row technique developed by Alice Yu; however, you may substitute your preferred short-row method if desired.
Choose a needle size one or two sizes smaller than you would normally use for DK-weight yarn, as this hat is worked at a tighter gauge to maintain crisp stitch definition in the ribbing.
