Holey Moley Cardy offers a “twist” on a top down raglan garment with the shaping accented by an eyelet lace pattern. Choose between the Short with full or 3/4 length sleeves or the Long with full sleeve options. Worked in fingering weight yarn, you may also like to hold a strand of kidsilk mohair together to create a cosier luxe version for chillier days or knit up the cropped version in linen or other plant-based yarn for a warm weather option. Holey Moley Cardy is designed to be worn open at the front and features a puff sleeve at the cuff.

NOTE: The pattern is chart only for the eyelet section.

CONSTRUCTION NOTE
Holey Moley is worked top down. Beginning with the back neck shaping, stitches are increased, then the yoke shaping is worked. After the yoke, the body and sleeves are separated with the sleeve stitches placed on holders while the body is worked. Once at the desired length, the bottom side wedges are completed with short rows, followed by the hem ribbing.
Sleeve stitches are then picked up and worked to desired length; short row shaping and cuff ribbing complete the sleeves. Finally, the front stitches are picked up and ribbing worked.

NEEDLES
US 5/3.75 mm long circular needle and DPNs or circular needles for small circumference knitting, or size required to obtain gauge
Note: I used US 3/3.25 mm needles to obtain gauge with the Lindy Chain yarn.

NOTIONS
8 stitch markers, 2 removable stitch markers, tapestry needle
Waste yarn or holders for holding stitches

GAUGE
23 sts and 35 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch, blocked
26 sts and 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in ribbing, blocked
It is useful to measure your gauge swatch before and after blocking to understand how much your project will grow with blocking as this will assist when checking the sleeve and body lengths
