Choose one color of DK weight wool for the main color and a self-striping contrast color for honeycomb slip stitches. I used 3 strands of Zauberball Crazy fingering weight yarn held together for the color changing contrast color stripes. The pattern includes a video tutorial demonstrating how to triple strand your yarn from one yarn ball, in order to maintain the self-striping effect of your fingering weight yarn. You can also substitute the contrast color with any DK or worsted weight yarn, perfect for variegated or speckled colorways. This long skinny shape knits up in a flash with US 7 / 4.5mm needles.

Finished Measurements
67″ / 170cm wingspan length, 11″ / 28cm at widest part. Measurements taken after blocking.

Yarn
DK and fingering weight held triple

Yardage
MC - 175yds / 160m
CC - 750yds / 686m holding 3 strands fingering weight
together OR 250yds / 229m using 1 strand of DK weight wool
Hold 1 strand DK weight for MC.
Use 3 strands of self-striping fingering weight yarn together
for CC.

You can substitute the CC with 1 strand of a self-striping DK
or worsted weight yarn OR you could use 1 strand of any
other type of DK or worsted weight yarn for your contrast
color. A solid CC would be very bold or try a speckled or
variegated CC for a fun splashy honeycomb effect.
