Hortensia Vest

This textured ornamental slipover is inspired by vintage patterns, floral tilework, and classic decorative fin de siècle elements in façades, illustrations, and interiors.
Although intricate-looking, it is surprisingly easy to knit and looks super elegant next to the stockinette stitch section.
The vest is worked bottom up in a combination of textured stitches and stockinette stitch. First, a hem of 3x1 ribbing is worked in the round. Then, the textured stitch section is worked bottom up to the underarm also in the round. The back and front are divided and worked flat at the underarm, and up to the shoulders, which are shaped using short rows as well as the neckline. Stitches are picked up for the armhole and neck opening and worked in 3x1 ribbing.

Please note that I used two different needle sizes to work through the body. Swatch to find the right needle size for each section.
