Hothouse Flowers
Where I spent the first 30 years of my life, exotic orchids don’t grow without a little help. The orchid lace motif brought to mind the wonderful indoor gardens in Calgary and Edmonton where I would see exotic flowers. The lace border is worked first, then the short-row body; then a simple garter edging.
Finished Size: 15” depth, 68” wingspan. Modification directions included.
Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Pixie (100% merino wool; 430 yards per 4 oz skein). Sample knit in Orchid Thief. Sample used 415 yards.
Needles: Size 4 US/3.50mm 24” circular needle, or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 20 stitches/29 rows per inch in blocked stockinette stitch. Gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage used and drape.
