Hotoke Shawl
Hōtoke (Hor - tor - ke) is te reo Maori for Winter. Winter is about cosyness: cosying up indoors in front of a blazing open fire, cosying up with a warming hot chocolate and cosying up to walk in the
crisp winter air with layers of delicious knits on!
This is what Hōtoke is about. It is a layer of textured cosy. The triangular shape has been specifically designed to wear effortlessly with a winter coat, providing the warmth needed to combat the chill of winter days.
Knit with a heavy DK/ worsted weight yarn, it is easily wearable: not too big or bulky. You can choose a crisp yarn (as in these photos) resulting in stunning texture, or something softer to give more drape.
Hōtoke starts from the bottom tip and moves into a textured pattern while maintaining increases and a garter stitch border throughout. Finally, a garter stitch border is worked along the top and Hōtoke is ready for your own cosy winter moments!
