House for a Mouse
A crochet house for mice, hamsters, gerbil and other small animals – or for a toy animal if you use yarn instead of twine.
Can be worked up in about an hour.
Important Note:
If you are making this for a life animal, keep in mind that they will gnaw on it and pull strands of fibre out. Therefore only use twine, undyed and unbleached organic cotton or organic wool or T-shirt yarn that you made yourself from old, often washed shirts.
Dyes, bleach or other chemicals used on yarn might be toxic for such a small animal when eaten and fibre strands from artificial yarns like acrylic might wrap around a leg or tail and cut off blood flow because they don’t tear easily.
Sizes:
animal house: Diameter 3.5 to 4 inches, height about 7 inches
toy house (small): Diameter 2.5 to 3 inches, height about 5 inches
