Hugo The Hungry Frog is here to snack on your yarn tails, paper clips or any other trinkets he can get hold of! When designing Hugo I imagined a funny grumpy frog companion sitting by the keyboard, or a very chunky frog sitting next to you on the sofa, holding a ball of yarn.

The Frog is made in 2 main pieces - the outer Frog and inner Lining. These are joined with a row of single crochet around the open mouth. The eyes and legs are then sewn to the body. The instructions also include a tiny crown and a tiny fly to add a little whimsy to the project.

The instructions are written in English in US or UK crochet terms. There are step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the frog. There are also charts for the front and back toes and for the tiny fly decoration.

When made with Aran/Heavy DK weight cotton yarn (sample yarn is 85m per 50gr) and 3.75mm hook the finished frog will measure about 11cm/4.5in tall.

・single crochet (UK double crochet)
・increase/decrease

The small sample is made in Rico Creative Ricorumi DK (100% Cotton, 25g, 57m/62yds) and 3mm crochet hook, and needs 25g of main colour, 10g of contrast colour and 20g of lining colour.

The medium sample is made in Rico Designs Creative Cotton Aran (100% Cotton, 50g, 85m/92yds) with 3.75mm crochet hook, and needs around 40g of main colour, 15g of contrast colour and 30g of lining colour.

The large sample is made in Drops Snow (100% wool, 50g/50m.55yds) with 6mm crochet hook, and needs around 100g of main colour, 25g of contrast colour and 75g of lining colour.
