Huron is knit in the round from the bottom up, with short row shaping to lower the bottom hem. The front and back are separate for the underarms, then joined at the shoulder with a three-needle bind off. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole and worked in the round from the top down, using short rows to shape the sleeve cap.

NOTE: Because the woven herringbone fabric is less flexible than stockinette, it can either (a) be blocked gently, keeping the bottom band snug enough to hug the hips, or (b) be blocked more aggressively, to hang freely. Model’s sweater has been blocked in the second way.
