Hygge Hands
Get cosy with this shawl and hand-warmers. The stitch pattern is a fun take on the traditional granny stitch, featuring rows of double crochet shells worked on the bias. Alternating rows of different yarn weights add texture, with a touch of mohair for extra fluffiness. The shawl’s wide wingspan allows for several styling options and effortless wear. The hand-warmers use yarn left from making the shawl. They are super quick to crochet, so you will have something warm and fuzzy in no time!

NOTES
The open-top hand-warmers are worked from the cuff up. They start with a set-up row crocheted flat. The work is then joined and worked in the round, to the thumb opening where it is crocheted flat to create an opening for the thumb, before re-joining to continue in the round to the top of the mittens. Granny stitch stripes are featured at the back of the mittens and double crochet stripes on the palm side. Turning chains are not included in the stitch count. The stacked single crochet (stsc) used at the start of each round/row, creates a stitch similar in width and height to a double crochet and counts as a double crochet stitch throughout. When joining each round, if the next round is crocheted with a new colour, work the slip stitch join using the new colour. Break yarn and fasten off is used at different sections of the handwarmers.
