I Live by a River Hat
Available exclusively with your passport at Ewe and I Yarn Shop during the Slow Yarn Crawl from May 24 to September 2, 2019.
Yes, I live by a river that is sometimes slow and placid and sometimes fast a furious. We have logs that the fish hide under as well as swirls and whirlpools when the current is just right. I have created a hat for the many faces of our river. You may want to knit many eddies (cables) for one of the fast a furious times. Or, you may create columns of eddies and alternate with sinkers, or submerged logs (plain knit columns). You could be totally wild and randomize your current as you want!
The basic premise is that you knit a brim and create columns of 5 stitches separated by a purl, knit, purl sequence in between. The 5 stitches can be cabled or left as knit stitches to create your eddies and sinkers. Have a fun walk!
