I Love Baby Reversible Intarsia Blanket (US)
A great project for learning the basics of my Award Winning Reversible Intarsia Technique, using an individual ball of yarn for each section of color to create a fabric with no wrong side. Begin with Wash Cloth to get the hang of how to change colors, and check your gauge (see Tip below). Then make the Blanket for a lovely Baby Gift Set.
This was my very first published pattern, originally appeared in the UK magazine, Inside Crochet Issue 30, June 2012. This version has been translated to US terminology. Rowan All Cotton yarn was used in the magazine sample, and Lion Brand Cotton-Ease was used in the alternate blue and yellow sample. This Pattern also includes a chart for the heart pattern not included in the magazine.
Errata (for magazine only): Row 17 should read “Ch1, 12hdc…” rather than “11hdc”.
Tip: The shape of your heart may vary slightly depending on your tension and the thickness of your yarn. Try the Washcloth, and if it is too short in one direction or the other, you can add one more stitch to the width of the heart on the bottom 1/2 and/or add one row to the top 1/2 before the decreasing curves on the top of the hearts.
NOTE: This design is worked in hdc, which is much easier to explain than the dc stitches used in some of my more detailed designs. But keep watching for future designs which will teach the dc stitches.
