Reduced price for Valentines day! I was inspired to design this warm winter hat ready for palentine, galentine, valentine’s day, call it what you will, by all the people that have shared my life! Some have been there for decades through thick and thin. Weirdly, lots of them have been red heads, naturally, or with a little help. I wanted to design a quick knit cosy hat to celebrate friendship and people who are always there for you. I’ve chosen a chunky yarn double stranded with an eyelash yarn for the trim. Then the body and crown of the hat are completed in the chunky yarn. I used a left-over acrylic yarn, but you could use any chunky yarn you have in your stash if it meets the gauge. A chunky washable merino would be a warm, practical, more luxurious option.
This one day wonder beanie hat is super quick. With a bit of time on your hands you will have it done in a day. With a leftover washable yarn it combines cost-conscious glamour and practicality. It is sized from baby to baby boomer (large adult) – why not make one for the whole gang? It would look awesome in a ‘team’ photo in a range of colors. The selected eyelash yarn is available in 25 colors. Something for every hair color.

This hat is for all ages, to fit approximate head circumference (A) 14 (16, 18, 20, 22, 24) inches/ 36 41, 46, 51, 56, 61 cm.
Gauge
Trim double-stranded Stylecraft Special Chunky and Moments DK:
4 inches / 10 cm = 9.5 sts and 14 rounds of stst
Body single stranded Stylecraft Special Chunky:
4 inches / 10 cm = 20 sts and 20 rounds of cable st pattern
4 inches / 10 cm = 16 sts and 24 rounds of stst
