Please Note: This pattern is also available for FREE on my blog. However, by purchasing the printable PDF at a low price, you also support me as a designer! With your purchase, you will receive your choice between two PDF files. One is fully coloured, with photos, and the other is a simple, black and white version with no photos and just the essential information.

Icarus Blanket is a beginner friendly DIY gradient pattern which uses double stranded knitting and simple stitches to create texture and colour play. It’s the perfect size for over your lap or around your shoulders when enjoying a cool autumn day in your garden or curled up on the sofa in front of the TV.

This pattern is extremely flexible, easy to resize and opens up an entire world of possibility for gradients. The colour for the original colourway was inspired by a painting of Icarus given to us by my mother-in-law, which I really love.

Find something that inspires you and create a gradient of your very own!

Note: There was an error added to this pattern by mistake, which has now been corrected. The number of main pattern repeats for the first and last colour band should be SIX, and the rest should be nine repeats of the main pattern repeat. The first and last have fewer repeats due to the added rows for the border. Sorry for any confusion!
