This triangular scarf is worked on the bias using simple stitches to showcase the shifting colours of a multi-coloured yarn with long colour changes. The garter stitch stripes are worked in the conventional direction, with the stocking stitch stripes worked across the scarf from a cast-on and attached by knitting stitches together. The pattern is easy to memorise and fun to knit.
When worked to pattern tension of 8 sts and 9 rows to 1” (2.5cm) of blocked stocking stitch, the scarf measures 14½” (37cm) deep with a 60¼”(153cm) wingspan. While achieving exact tension is not vital, it may affect your yarn yardage requirements and finished scarf size if you do not.
