Ice Floe Cowl
I am trying a new Pay What You Can Afford model. I am very well aware that many people are struggling financially, ourselves included, due to restrictions in place to combat COVID-19 so I am offering a tiered pricing system in an attempt to make my patterns more accesible to those who want to knit them!
The price shown in Ravelry reflects the true value and best represents the amount of work it takes to produce the pattern from start to finish. To purchase the pattern at a price more accessible to you please use the codes below at checkout. The prices shown are what you will pay (plus any VAT that may be applicable in your area)
PWYCA1 £3.60
PWYCA2 £4.80
NO CODE £6.00
Ice Floe takes it’s inspiration from the patterns and shifts in colour seen in majestic, slow moving glaciers on their barely perceptible journeys through the landscape. Designed to showcase the gentle gradients found in the John Arbon Textiles range Knit by Numbers, this DK weight project uses a set of six mini skeins, moving from the darkest tone through to the lightest and back again. A narrow i-cord edging keeps things neat whilst the rhythmic stitch pattern keeps things interesting!
Skill Level
Moderately easy - just knits and purls and slipped stitches. You do need to pay attention to your slipped sts with yarn at front or back though…
The cowl is knit flat and seamed. If you prefer you can start with a provisional cast on and use a 3-needle bind off to finish.
Sizes
Finished size if knit to pattern is 80cm around and 21cm deep. Add or subtract multiples of 4sts if you want a deeper or narrower cowl and add or decrease rows to make your cowl longer or shorter if you wish but bear in mind that this will affect yarn quantities required.
