DESCRIPTION
Iivola mittens are timeless and quite simple. The design is unisex. As a detail there is a continuous line from cuff to fingertips created with twisted stitches and decreases. In front of the mittens there is a repeating texture pattern with purl and twisted stitches. The mittens are worked from cuff to fingertips, there is a thump hole, cast on is Italian and bind off is worked with Kitchener stitches.

Iivola mittens are inspired by functionalism and Finnish functionalistic designer Alvar Aalto, who is well known for the furniture and buildings he designed. In Iivola mittens functionalism manifests itself in fit, color and simple solid construction. For the same “line” with Iivola mittens I have designed Iivola socks.
