Meet Ilo, a lightweight rectangular scarf with simple lace on garter stitch. The easy-to-memorise lace lets your mind wander to the rhythmic dance of the needles.

Ilo (ee-law) is Finnish for joy. This is your invitation to engage in the pure joy of meditative stitches and fine yarn.

You can easily adjust the size to your liking. The pattern includes instructions to modify both width and length.

YARN
One cone of Habu Textiles A-1 2/17 Tsumugi (100% silk; 411 m / 450 yds per 48 g). Shown in colour 34.

Or approximately 411 m / 450 yds of similar lace-weight yarn.

NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 needles or size to achieve pattern gauge

I recommend using long straight needles or 40 - 60 cm / 16 - 24 inch circular needle.

Gauge affects the finished size and the amount of yarn needed.
