Inbetween Days is the title of a song by The Cure. The original version of this shawl was designed and knit during the days in between Christmas and New Year and as I’ve been a big fan of The Cure for well over 30 years the name just jumped out at me.

Using two skeins of contrasting yarn, simple stitches and short row shaping Inbetween Days knits up into a striking crescent shaped shawl which will keep you cosy in the coldest of winters and will also be a fabulous transition piece for the days in between the heat of summer and the cold of winter.

This pattern incorporates a handy row by row stitch count guide that can be used to tick off each row as you go along or simply to check in with where you are up to if you’ve put your knitting down for a while and are just coming back to it. I hope you find this useful.

Gauge isn’t important, but the choice of yarn and needles will affect yarn yardage so please do bear this in mind when selecting your yarn.
