The ‘Indigo Wings Socks Knit-kit’ is the first in the Hummingbird Yarns’ ‘Bird Conservation Collection’: a collection of colourways and designs inspired by birds. The pattern is including in a kit with the yarn and also available as an individual pattern.

This colourway and design are inspired by the colourful Indigo Bunting from the Americas. The pattern represents the wings folded down on the bird’s back.

The socks are worked toe-up, with a gusset and ribbed heel flap. The folded wing pattern (charted and written) is worked over the top of the foot, beginning after the toe and merging into ribbing on the leg. This then forms part of the ribbing for the cuff.

The reverse side (inside) is just as beautiful, so the socks can be worn ‘inside-out’.
