The garter-based lace pattern is perfect for these rings, as it looks identical on both sides, does not roll, and can be grafted invisibly. Special bonus - these rings are quick and easy to knit! The 10-row vertical repeat is readily memorized, and the garments grow quickly on #7 straight needles.

Skill level: This is an ideal lace project for a novice at lace knitting or anyone who wants an easy project. The only tricky bit is the grafting together of the two ends once the knitting is complete. Grafting is not really difficult but simply requires concentration. Instructions for the lace pattern are presented both charted and in words.

One ball of Aloft makes 2 neck gaiters OR 1 medium cowl OR 1 long cowl. Two balls of Aloft make 1 shoulder wrap and 1 neck gaiter. These are great gift projects!
