These socks are worked from the cuff down. They feature a picot hem and an all over lace pattern which continues into the heel and instep. The gusset increases are incorporated in the lace pattern. The slipped stitch heel flap is on the bottom of the foot for extra reinforcement. The toes are anatomically shaped.

While I normally prefer a sturdy but stretchy cast-on for socks, I recommend using a backwards-loop or crochet provisional cast on (to be removed) for the folded-picot cuff to maximize stretch and minimize bulk at the join. --Laura
