The Inis Meáin Cowl (pronounced “inish-maan) is the sister pattern to the Inis Meáin Shawl and part of the CableStar Volume 1: Galway Bay collection. You can purchase the eBook containing 6 patterns and 19 tutorials, or the pattern individually.
Named after the middle of the three Aran Islands, this cowl features a central Celtic cable, flanked by cables, a twisted rib, and texture.
This cowl is knit seamlessly - first you knit the main body in the round from bottom to top. Then using a join technique you knit the top and bottom borders on, creating continuous cabled borders that run perpendicular to the main body.
The pattern contains instructions on working this join, and the eBook contains photo tutorials.
