The Inis Meáin Shawl (pronounced “inish-maan) is the sister pattern to the Inis Meáin Cowl, and part of the CableStar Volume 1: Galway Bay collection. You can purchase the eBook containing 6 patterns and 19 tutorials, or the pattern individually.

Named after the middle of the three Aran Islands, this shawl features a central Celtic cable, flanked by cables, a twisted rib, and texture.

Inis Meáin is constructed seamlessly - first the main body of the shawl is worked from top to bottom. The border is then knit on using a join technique and wrap & turns in order to create a seamless continuous cable flowing around the body.

The pattern includes instructions for the join and wrap & turn short rows, while the eBook contains photo tutorials of the techniques.
