If you think of the cliffs of Inishmore (Inis Mor), the largest island of the Arans on the west coast of Ireland, off Galway Bay, you can imagine the striations of rock on the cliffs. What better inspiration than an Aran Isle for my new cowl. I made the cabled neck warmer in Marks & Kattens Eco Ull so you can see the lovely hues of the natural wool.

It is quick to knit (as cables go). As I was knitting it, I thought I could double the recipe (stitches) and make the long cowl, this fall’s fashion trend, or keep knitting and double the length for a skirt, kind of resembling Stella McCartney’s romper from my blog.
