The Interval scarf emerges from a study of structure, where repetition becomes language, and rhythm defines form. Inspired by the microcellular organization of Fragilaria crotonensis — a diatom forming elongated, ladder-like chains — the design unfolds through sequences that echo living systems, balancing precision and organic growth. Each stitch acts as a unit, each interval as a space of transition, creating a surface that is both ordered and alive. A unisex, easy-to-wear accessory, Interval features slipped stitches that add quiet texture and extra warmth, making it a timeless piece for everyday wear.

NOTES
This scarf is worked flat, beginning with a Provisional CO, and worked to the desired length in a subtle textured stitch pattern. Fringes are worked at each end. Each fringe thread is worked over 5 stitches, while the remaining stitches are held on the needle, and continues the scarf’s texture for a cohesive finish. After the first fringe is completed, the Provisional CO is unravelled and the other fringe is worked in the same way.
