Invigoration Shawl
The Invigoration Shawl uses clever construction and blocking to create an elongated kite shape that is eye catching yet simple to achieve.
Supplies needed:
Fingering weight yarn, sample uses 1200 yards of Montana Crochet Sock; 11 mini skeins of 87 yards each and one contrast color.
US I/5.5 mm Tunisian crochet hook with 24” cord (or size needed to meet gauge)
Locking stitch marker (3)
Scissors
Darning Needle
Blocking mats & pins
The kite shawl shape is achieved by transformative blocking. It is important that you use a yarn that can be wet blocked effectively.
Feel free to change colors on any row as desired. My methodology was using each mini skein to its end, and then doing rows of my contrast (off white) in between for various row counts. I have included my color strategy on the last page of the pattern.
Finished size is 80” wingspan by 22” at the deepest point.
