Designer notes:
Shawl is worked in one piece with a Garter st border on each of the 2 long sides. The Garter stitch border has been incorporated into the Lace Pattern.

The Lace Pattern used in this Shawl requires that you keep track of your stitches and of which row you are working on. In Row 1, we will tell you where to place st markers with 3 border sts at the beg of the row, followed by 6 sets of 12 sts each (for the Lace Pattern) and 3 border sts at the end of the row.

Use a row counter to keep track of which rows of the 18-row Lace Pattern you have worked.
