Islander Necklace
Whether it’s Manhattan Island or somewhere more tropical, the Islander Necklace is sure to attract some natives! The design for this necklace was Inspired by freeform beadweaving, where strands of beads are connected randomly with twists, turns, and explosions of sparkle. This pattern uses the beaded chain crochet technique and single crochet to create a similar look. Enjoy wearing your jaw-dropping bead crochet masterpiece.
Finished Measurements: 16 (17.5, 19)“
Gauge in single crochet: 7 sts = 1”
Gauge in beaded chain: 7.5 chains = 1”
Materials Needed: 15 (20, 25) yards of fingering weight yarn, 393 (435, 477)* size 8/0 seed beads, a button for the closure (or other desired clasp or closure), large eye beading needle or dental floss threader
I highly recommend using a bead spinner for threading this many beads. Alternately, if you find 8/0 beads pre-strung, you can slide them easily onto your working yarn.
