Isolde Shawl
This circular shawl is knit from the center point outward, and shaped with the use of yarn-over increases. The shawl features several leaf and tree lace motifs, and is finished off with a crocheted lacey eyelet border. All the lace motifs are presented in chart form only.
You will need approximately 900 yards of a laceweight (875 yards/100 gram skeins) yarn to knit this project as written. Choose a yarn with a nice drape that blocks well to show off the lace motifs. The sample is shown in Wooly Wonka Arianrhod Lace, in the Herb Garden colorway.
The story of Tristan and Isolde is one of the great love stories of the ages. Set against the backdrop of the Celtic and Arthurian legends, Isolde is a healer, a princess, and heir to the throne of Ireland.
Note this shawl is available both as a standalone pattern and as part of the 6-installment 2015 Heroines Shawl Club as an ebook.
