Blacker’s Birthday Yarn is such a wonderful tradition, I was so happy to be able to work with this extra special yarn this year. This year’s yarn takes inspiration from the fabrics of the Middle Ages, and the Legend of King Arthur, and with those elements in mind I created the Isoud Tam and Mittens, imagining what La Beale Isoud might wear, puttering around the Joyous Gard.

This pattern is suitable for the knitter with experience reading a chart and stranded colorwork.

Finished tam has a circumference of 21 inches at ribbing unstretched and is 9 inches tall. It is shown on a 22 inch head.

If you would like to knit the matching Isoud Cowl and Isoud Mittens, you will need one extra skein of Merlin.
