Italian Ice Shawl
The Italian Ice Shawl is crocheted from the top down, to form a half-circle shape, & can be made using any weight yarn/hook combination, & works up very quickly. This is an advanced beginner pattern. The simple stitch pattern really makes yarn choice very important, so make sure you pick a yarn you really love!
Shawl will need severe blocking in order to form a perfect half-circle shape, and as such be sure to use a fiber that will block well.
The edging is only one row & is the hardest part of the shawl, but once you “get it” will go quickly. Pattern now includes a chart for the edging only.
Edging uses approximately 1/3 of the yarn.
I crochet loosely; most crocheters will need to go up 1-2 hook sizes. Work a nice, loose, drapey gauge, & you will be happy with your finished shawl!
Thanks to brendac4u, troubleagain, ramhist, & honeystalks for testing the shawl, & many thanks to Susan Moskwa (http://www.rogueedits.com) for her tech editing skills! Thanks to my dad for naming the shawl. This pattern would not have been possible without all of you.
